Opening Day Success

Opening Day was full of people at the Salem Farmers' MarketThank you to the almost 5,000 people who attended the Salem Farmers’ Market opening day making it the most successful market to date. This year the market has new vendors offering greater variety including a Certified Organic Farm, a beeworks, local cheese and meat as well as MA wine. The market opened with the ringing of the market bell by Tony Bettencourt from 62 Restaurant and Winebar. Tony led a cooking demonstration with delicious sampling. His presentation was followed by a music act – the Kiwi Kids, who performed environmental songs. Diane DeGuzman was on-site to give free health coaching and from 5 – 7 market patrons enjoyed the lovely music of Qwill.
