Great Opening Day

Thank you to everyone that came out, even with the light mist, we had a great crowd.

Thank you to Chive, Sustainable Event Design & Catering for the demo featuring food from that day’s Market and also to Qwill and The Further From Zen Orchestra. Also to both Rep. John Keenan and Mayor Kim Driscoll for their comments and opening the Salem Farmers’ Market in style.

Opening Day Events

Opening Day is today, and here is what we have going on:

State Representative John D. Keenan will be ringing the opening bell to kick off the 2010 season.

Mayor Kimberley Driscoll will make a few remarks.

3:30 Chive, Sustainable Event Design & Catering will do a cooking demonstration

5:00-7:00 Music by Qwill and The Further From Zen Orchestra

Our two rotating vendors for this week: Creative Spirit Designs and Little Birds Fly.

The Countdown: One Week

The countdown is on, and we open next week (the 17th). A reminder that we will be opening an hour earlier this year, from 3:00-7:00 PM. We are excited, the farmers and vendors are excited, and looking at our facebook page, it sounds like you are all as well! You have liked our page, right? If you aren’t a facebooker, but like getting information from the internet, we are also on twitter, and this site as well.

Fundraiser at Sixty2 on Wharf

Come join the organizers of the Salem Farmers’ Market, Monday, April 12 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Sixty2 on Wharf for a fundraiser to help us prepare for the 2010 Salem Farmers’ Market. Enjoy delicious appetizers, fantastic music provided by Qwill and Henley Douglas Jr., and support the market all for $20. Due to the great success of the Salem Farmers’ Market in 2009 it will be back by popular demand in June 2010. This fundraiser will help with all the costs in making this a reality. Silent Auction items range from a makeup lesson at Rouge Cosmetics valued at $75 to a $50 gift certificate to Rowands Seafood one of the SFM vendors. Other raffle items include a nights stay at the Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast, a gift card to Bella Hair Studio, a $50 gift card to Urban Elements and much more…There are a limited number of tickets so purchase yours in advance at Sixty2 on Wharf or the Salem Chamber of Commerce at 265 Essex Street.
