We’ve just been awarded a $2,500 grant by the MA Department of Agricultural Resources Farmers Market Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) program. This program provides funding to subsidize the purchase or rental of wireless equipment (Point of Sale or POS terminals) that allow farmers markets to accept federal Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly food stamp, benefits as payment for locally grown produce. This will make the market more accessible to a larger number of people.
